Description World's tallest structure from 1311 until spire fell in 1548.
-Original Construction Started in 1092.
-Was damaged by an earthquake in 1185, in 1192 it was restored in gothic style rather than the norman style in which it was originally constructed.
-The central tower collapsed around the year 1238 and new central tower construction began in 1255.
-In 1311 the Central Tower was completed to full height (160m).
-Central Tower spire fell in 1548 during strong winds and was never rebuilt.
-In 1807 the spires on the west towers were removed as their weight caused them to lean.
