Description In Eemshaven NorNed Static Inverter Hall there is
the Dutch static inverter of NorNed, the bipolar 450 kV HVDC cable, which runs from Feda in
Norway to Eemshaven in the Netherlands. The cable of NorNed is with a length of 580 km
world's longest submarine power cable.
NorNed Static Inverter Hall contains in opposite to the static inverter halls at most other HVDC
facilities not only the static inverter, but the whole equipment of the station. All powerlines running
to the building are built as underground cables, so NorNed Static Inverter Hall does not look like
a typical switchyard.
