Several sources point at the start of the construction in year 757 AD, and it was finished a few years later, although an exact date of its completion is not conclusive.
• It was being renovated and upgraded several times since its construction in 1801, 1834 (the narthex was built), 1842 (the belfry was built, architect A. Digby), 1845 (the side chapel was built), 1894-1896.
