Designed to look like the great hotels in Yellowstone National Park, such as the Grand Canyon Hotel; the Grove Park Inn was designed to be one of the top resort hotels in the nation. Henry Ives Cobb was hired as the architect, but Fred Seely broke relations with Cobb and took over as lead architect of the hotel. Furniture in the hotel was purchased from Roycrofters and White Furniture Company. The hotel had guests such as Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Harvey Firestone, F. Scott Fitzgerald and was host to eight United States Presidents.
