• Construction started in 1913, but due to a fire in 1916 the building wasn't completed for a couple more years.

• In the 1976, the building was bought and a penthouse addition was designed by renowned architect, I.M. Pei. The Penthouse cost ½ million dollars.

• On the National Register of Historic Places since 1979.
