Description • Architect: Michel Pinseau.
• Upon its completion, it became the tallest (till 2019), and second largest, mosque in the world. It can accomodate 25,000 worshipers.
• Inspired by a verse in the Qur'an, the structure lies partly on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, and worshipers can look down into the sea through a section of glass floor in the mosque.
