Louisville is very underrated with a very underrated skyline. It definatly has a great riverfront. Can't wait for that new tower to be finished.

Louisville is the closest major city to St Louis, I think. I've had the desire to take a drive down there and explore the city. These pictures really encourage me to.

Great photos! I love that you got photos of the old water tower. Its a truely grand monument that gets relatively little attention in the scheme of things.

Thanks. This is my first time posting photos. The Belle / Ohio River tour was most excellent. Can't wait until the Museum plaza gets topped off! Its thinness reminds me of the Sears tower and makes it look very tall.

Your photos are wonderful! It really encourages me to take some photos of my own and post them here, especially since the city doesn't have the representation on this forum it deserves. Also, the Bardstown Road area of the Highlands needs to be featured on here. I don't think many people outside of Louisville really know what a gem the Highlands is. I've never seen anything like it in any other city, even those much larger than Louisville.

I regret not making it to bardstown road while i was in louisville. I hear a lot of great things about it and would love to see your pictures in the future. I think ssp'ers would also like to see some of Louisville's old homes. They have the largest victorian historical district in the US!

Such a sweet little skyline!

But it certainly is no Cincinnati.... Hmmm.. We need to discuss this perhaps?

Although the skyline has grown, the photos bring back some memories. In 1973 I took a bicycle-camping trip from Fort Wayne to Louisville to ride the Belle of Louisville. The bike trip took 4 days going and only 3 days returning, because it didn't rain all the way home.

If my memory is correct, the waterworks building on the left (the white building) houses a couple of the turn-of-the-century Snow-Holley triplex steam pumps that once pumped water for the city. They're beautiful and big, taller than a two-story house.
