Pre 1990 Berlin

I absolutely love when people have made the effort to scan old photos and show them on the web. It's so fascinating with older photos.

One of the most fascinating cities in the world is Berlin. I've found a whole bunch of amazing old pics on Flickr.

Those photos are taken by Michael Rogers, Boston USA, in 1983:

Thanks for posting this, brings back memories of my youth

My first visit to Berlin was in 1978 , an unforgettable experience I got there.
I still remember a lot of things from those days tough it is about 30 years ago.

Berlin seems so depressing back then! But fascinating none the less. Wonderful pictures.

Thanks for showing these.

I love the warm tones of old cameras from the 70s and 80s. I've always wanted to get a vintage camera myself.

Berlin wall

I would like the modern "wall builders" to look at those pictures. The power of destruction is obvious.

Interesting. The older ones (except for the wall) actually look better than the newer ones. Seems like it got neglected over time.

The city looks much more stark than it is today. I especially like the photos from the '60s; the shot of the guardsman peering at the photographer through a telescopic lens is quite eerie. Thanks a bunch for posting these beauties, Olga!
