Riverside, California

This is where I live. It lies 50 miles east of Los Angeles in the area of SoCal known as the Inland Empire. The IE usually gets shat on but if you stand back and look at it, Riverside is a very beautiful city. Well...downtown anyway All pics from Flickr. Please to enjoy:

You know, I'm not a huge fan of the Inland Empire, but downtown Riverside definitely has character and some very beautiful buildings. The Mission Inn is particularly stunning. I might have to make my way over there one day and just explore the old downtown on foot. Not right now though - its way too hot outside =P

Nice photos,

The best time to visit would be late fall, winter, and up until about the middle of May. After that its too hot to enjoy, but if you can stand Las Vegas or Phoenix than the Inland Empire isn't so bad compared to those two.

^ It was 109 yesterday and quite humid. But I agree..November is the best time to visit. Downtown really comes alive then.

That's pretty funny. You've found some nice pictures that really represent Riverside. That first picture almost looks like a mini Phoenix.

Hey 300-
Grew up in Riverside. Thanks for posting some great pics of familiar sites around town. The steeple is one of my all time favorites....in Riverside or beyond.

Wow I went to UCR and then worked in Riverside for 10 years afterward. I had a little 1919 craftsman bungalow over in the Woods Streets. I got all nostalgic seeing these photos. Thanks!
