Aug 20 @ 11:00

Carlton will be closed down to one lane from 18:00 Aug 22 to 06:00 Aug 23 for 'extensive concrete work' on the Sutton Hotel project.

No problem!

Had a tour of 225 Carlton today. Nice, but pricey.
$1,581 for ~600 sq. ft 1 BR
$5K for the 1,700 sq. ft. penthouse.

Bedrooms are designed small on purpose but a queen fits with no real room for any other furniture. So, no dresser or wardrobe, just an end table.

I mean, it's nice but can't I buy a pretty nice condo or house for under $5K a month?

People are signing up though. I'm told 3 more moving in this weekend.

I was at a lunch today hosted in the square. Let me tell you. Once Sutton Place and Wawanesa are up, it'll be quite the street. The 5 TNS towers plus hydro will make it feel very urban. New, tall, glass building all around.

I also talked to one person who had been interested in an apartment. It was around the price range you mentioned. They said it was nice, but pricey. But it is a new build so that's what it is. They didn't move on a suite and went elsewhere.

Forgot to mention - Fools & Horses was there with their coffee and baking (from Hildegard's at Portage and Maryland - mmmmm!).

So, they'll be in the Food Hall (end of September) and I couldn't wrangle from our tour guide 'who' was going in but there will be a coffee place opening up on Graham/Carlton.

Pretty nice condo?? You can get a million dollar mortgage paying that much. Are they full year leases?

I'm sure they'll be numerous companies snapping up some of these apartments, same With 300 Main. It's very common for corporations to have apartments for out of town guests near their offices, especially if they have guests a lot. There was never really any options for this before downtown... Now that's changed.

JETS players w/o families would enjoy a suite so close to rink

^^ Don't Jets players spend more of their working time at MTS Ice Plex than at MTS Centre?

I doubt living next to the rink is that big of a selling point... apart from you working-from-home oddballs, how many of us live next door to where we work?

It's not like Jets players have to fight 9-5 rush hour traffic.

Judging by the number of times I've seen Mark Scheifele walking on River Ave. between his building and Safeway, I would imagine proximity to a supermarket, factors in higher than proximity to the gameday arena. Just like for the rest of us.

Didn't get into the details with Arlene (the guide) but the brochure says "annual renewable commitments" so I'm guessing yes.

The annual “rental” player could go there. The Jets/Moose would probably rent some suites for guests and call-ups.

The rent is over $1400 for an 825 sq ft dump less than 5 minutes away from TNS.
I could live in fewer sq ft.

Thanks. Still waiting, waiting, waiting for the cam. They should just swing the main camera over to look at the new site. Jeez I'm a spoiled baby with all these cams haha.
