Quick story, i was talking to my brother and his friend about basefields, and they both agreed that a downside to Wrigley is that its not surrounded by parking lots (IMO the fact that its right in the middle of a neighborhood is the best part)
A lot of people are used to tailgating and want to sit there with their BBQs and coolers before the game. My pregame was always at Goose Island. Need a new spot for next week.

After a two-week trial, the jury deliberated about 4 ½ hours over two days before convicting R. Marc Hamid of multiple counts of mail fraud and illegal bank structuring. The most serious counts carry a maximum sentence of 20 years.
Hamid, 47, was the longtime owner of the Skybox on Sheffield, a rooftop club beyond the right field wall, as well as two ticket brokerages called Just Great Seats and Just Great Tickets.
From 2008 to 2011, Hamid under-reported attendance and revenue at Skybox on Sheffield through a variety of schemes, including "zeroing out" invoices and charging customers through one of his brokerages instead of the rooftop business itself, according to the charges. The phony numbers meant the Cubs did not get as much in royalty payments as they should have under terms of the rooftop owners' agreement with the team.
According to prosecutors, Hamid then submitted false sales tax returns to the state of Illinois and amusement tax returns to Cook County and the city of Chicago for those years, failing to report about $1.5 million in sales. Hamid also is alleged to have used some of the unreported money for personal and business expenses, including payments on luxury cars.
Club also unveiled plans for the American Airlines 1914 Club is scheduled to open for the 2018 season underneath the club box seating bowl between the home and visiting dugouts.
demoing entire city blocks for massive developments, losing fine grained street texture in the process, reeks of the worst kind of urban renewal mistakes from the 70s. i think theres plenty to dislike about this project.

^ There's your point, and then there is unilaterally bitching about everything without rhyme or reason, often contradicting yourself in the process. When the latter happens, you just don't like where you live and places like Arizona and Dallas are more suitable
I'm beyond stoked to see those surface lots on Addison and Sheffield go. But why can't Clark remain as it is? It looks like they're plopping New City down on Clark, for christ's sake. I'd much rather have an interesting, semi-gritty stretch of bars than this vanilla POS. This belongs on North/Clybourn, not in Wrigleyville.
