is that orange steel going to keep rising with the structure? Or is that part of the building? I really havent seen this set up before.

The orange steel beam assembly is the armature deck from which the wall forms are "hung" and allow the outer panels to roll back to set reinforcing. These outer panels are being set even as I write this. The whole deal gets pushed up by hydraulic cylinders that are attached to the previously poured wall below--they are inside the forms in what will be the elevator shafts.

Oh, and the 500 ton crane that will erect the tower crane is being set up now. Saturday evening-Sunday morning looks for the crane to be going up.

Once again thanks for the info, for someone like me it is very interesting. From what I read using this system will save time for the crane, because it won't have to worry about raising the forms which is cool to know.

I like to think of those form systems as a core-factory.

Moving up floor by floor,
making the core.
We're always wanting more.

interesting. I dont recall seeing this setup on comcast building.

The DOKA climbing system used on 432 Park Ave was fun to see, now this should rise fast in Phila....

Wow! Nice! That seemed like overnight that they got the tower crane erected! Those guys are fast! We should really see vertical progress now!
