Hello all. Welcome to Part 2 of my Friday afternoon trek - turning into my Friday evening trek. In Part 2 I start off in Yaletown proper, hop across the Cambie Street Bridge to the new seawall section at the u/c Olympic Village, and then make my way down the seawall along the south shore of False Creek just in time for a sunset at 'Kits' (Kitsilano) Beach.

And for any of you who may have missed it... Part 1:

so where are the nice parts of town?

Jun 5, 2008, 4:28 AM
:previous: In the city proper? My biased opinion says Kitsilano. But also Point Grey, Dunbar, Kerrisdale, Yaletown, West End, Shawnessy, Mount Pleasant (south), East Van (Commercial area), pretty much anywhere between Main and UBC... beach access helps a lot. I'm not too fond of the south-east or areas bordering Burnaby so much. Hope that helps. :D

Awesome pics. Van is the summer is amazing.

Interesting (maybe) sidenote: your goslings look to be almost the exact same age as ours. I assumed that with your earlier, milder spring your geese would hatch earlier than their SW Ontario cousins.

The weather in Vancouver has been so horrible this spring that I've seriously considered moving, but days like that remind me why I stay.

Also probably the biggest compliment I can give you is I don't bother taking photos of Vancouver for this board anymore 'cause your photos are far superior.

^I greatly appreciate the compliment but please continue posting pics too! I always look forward to other people's Vancouver photo threads - they always offer a different perspective than my own. And weren't you the one that posted that great thread from atop the the TD Tower? That was a gem of a photo thread!

Thanks for the continued comments everybody!

Yeah that was me. But now I work in a university and could only take pics of scantily clad summer co-eds, which I'm sure no one here would care about.

just like seattleBy saying "rain there every day" you mean it rains more than the average city, then yes. The winter is the worst, summer isn't bad at all. And in the winter, we usually don't have to shovel it as people do in many other Canadian cities. :)

whoa...Vancouver looks a lot larger than its population. nice shots. say what you will, but i like the look of overhead powerlines and wires in cities, it makes it looks cluttered and chaotic and lived in.
