Description Approved and start on 1977, for 700 rooms hotel, the foundations, basement levels, main level & concrete core advance to the 7th floor (Main pool level), but on 1979 a big earthquake forces to re-design the structure, a group of new piles and columns increase the stability but the global cost too, that makes the project to complete stop one year later, on 1984 start again and the steel structure grows up to the 14th level and the concrete core rise closer to the 18th, but a new and harder couple of earthquakes on 1985 destroys the cranes and makes damages on the concrete elements and the project finally was cancelled, one year later was re-designed and adapted to be an office's building: "Torre Caballito" but shorter. http://skyscraperpage.com/cities/?buildingID=878
