And wow, Pittsburgh just doesn't get many immigrants. It's really incredible. Even all-American Cincy doubles up on Pittsburgh.

Has to be NY, LA or SF/SJ. By % no doubt SF/SJ, and I'm guessing by raw numbers maybe LA, then NY, then SF, all pretty close? And Toronto would be in the mix too, I think?
I really don't know. My guess is New York, followed by Los Angeles, followed by the Bay Area.

It's hard to find consistent figures. Wikipedia says that the 2020 Census showed 13.8% of the Los Angeles-Long Beach CSA identified as Asian (non-Hispanic) and another 0.2% identified as Pacific Islanders (non-Hispanic). So 14% of 18,644,680 people is 2,610,255. I don't think the Bay Area can beat those raw numbers, but New York certainly could.

Pittsburgh is extremely light on Latinos.

When it comes to its Asian share, it's closer to par for the region, though it's a region that generally well-underperforms the nation on that score.

2020 asian shares in major rustbelt/midwest MSAs:

twin cities: 7.2%
chicago: 7.1%

US national average : 5.9%

columbus: 4.9%
detroit: 4.7%
buffalo: 4.2%
milwaukee: 4.2%
indianapolis: 3.9%
kansas city: 3.2%
rochester: 3.2%
pittsburgh: 3.1%
cincy: 2.9%
st. louis: 2.9%
grand rapids: 2.8%
cleveland: 2.6%
louisville: 2.5%

The NY MSA is about 12% Asian, or about 2.41m, so slightly fewer in raw numbers than the Los Angeles CSA.
