This project is the third in the trio of the X-Y-Z project "slab" buildings constructed by the Rockefeller Group. The other two being 1251 Avenue of the Americas (aka Exxon Bldg.) and the McGraw-Hill Building (1221 Ave. of the Americas).
These three buildings were added in the westward extension of Rockefeller Center along with Time-Life building.
