Pretty much a floating glass box but I like it. Feels very swinging 60's to me. More institutional buildings in the core please!

Reminds me a bit of the Police station in Toronto at Dundas/Dovercourt.

Nice, simple, modern building. Core needs more of this.

61 Mary Street, shame to see that one go, is this a full block development? Sad state currently, will be a welcome replacement, even if it is low density.

This project Doesnt include the old mosque building at the N/W corner of the lot.

Everything else behind it will be demolished, aka the garage building at the S/E Corner

the mosque building has seen better days,.. I would not be upset to see it go in all honesty.

too bad, even if that building had some redeeming qualities, just a sliver of land left over for the block, destined to become a future parking lot when nothing feasible can be economically retrofitted into the space

Pretty sure GS Maher owns that parcel now. Fencing and trailers are on site next to it for a few months now. Also some cleanup done inside I believe.

Note he's the one who did the small infill townhouse projects further east on Wilson.

Small but pretty. 20 years down it'll be sold for re-development, guaranteed.

I really cannot believe they are building such a small and suburban facility in the middle of the growing downtown. A doubling of population over the next 40 years means they will have to redevelop regardless. Unless they are hoping with growth comes a reduction in crime.

Certainly nothing to be too excited over but it's not a parking lot and it has some clean lines. The materials look fine. Will look good with King/Hughson towers and Rebecca tower and even RC if it ever happens. Also, I'm glad 96 Wilson is saved because I spent many crazy nights at parties there in the 90's. That place was lit.

What a wasteful and inefficient use of downtown land.

Wait are we now condemning projects because not EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM is a 30 story tower??

A city needs diversity - a combination of tall and small buildings..

Also looking at this area in 3d isometric street view, one really does get a scope for how much parking is all crammed into one specific area of downtown..

This forum has always condemned short builds. I think it will be a nice addition, but I can totally see where the others are coming from.
