easy there Tallbob! Haha! No I agree, it would look awesome at 70 floors. So tall and slender. It has really grown on me since we first saw it. I love its interaction with the skyline and the effect it will have. Either this, or an American-style pyramid-topped tower is perfect for this location to balance the skyline, only as long as it is noticeably taller than Brookfield Place.

I'm actually starting to like this one quite a bit. If it end sup being 61 floors as rumored, then it'll be pretty decent IMO.

Same feelings. I mean, even if it's the 47 storey version, at least we're getting another 200+ meter tower, but a new tallest would be awesome. It's also a unique design to Canada so all in all it's really not that bad. A carbon copy of none

As a Torontonian, I can say that I'm quite jealous that you guys have such a wonderful proposal which is fairly likely to be approved. Congrats Calgary!

I thin the taller this tower was, the better it would look. I'm not sure if the shown version of rendering is the 860' version. I guess will find out more as we go.
i hope and pray they build this as soon as possible. i love how calgary is showing up much larger cities as far as big office skyscrapers are concerned. just shows how much financial power calgary is building up. in time it will certainly matter what the business men and women in calgary think. it trickles down to us people living in the west as well. whats better for them is better for me. in the line of work i'm in. it means everything.

More like conservative architecture for a conservative owner. Buildings outlives their tenants and their tenants' tastes. Oxford is the real estate investment arm of a pension fund.

True that Oxford in the past has been very conservative in the past, but has been pushing for less conservative as they go head to head with Brookfield (their closest competitors). Look at the proposal they had for Toronto that fell through. They had Norman Foster as the architect, and it was more than just a square box. I think this is just the beginning of Oxford pushing the bounds. Hopefully we will see a less conservative approach in the future.
