Robert Plant in the Bouldin Creek Neighborhood?

I had heard a couple years ago that Plant was purchasing a house in Travis Heights. I am on the Facebook page called South Austin Memories. It was recently posted that he bought this house on the corner of S. 3rd and Johana, and that it would be razed last Saturday.

Apparently he bought the church/castle behind it on the SE corner of Mary and S. 3rd. I'm assuming he probably bought the lot between the two as well. Anyone know for sure?

Here's the listing for the castle. Only $1.4 million.

Anyone know anymore details?

He's building his home where the house at 3rd and Johanna is. His stairway to heaven is going in where the church/castle is.

And he's buyyyyiiiing a stairwaaaayyyy...to heaven.

I don't know. I doubt they'd tear down that castle. Maybe he's going into the bed and breakfast industry? Who knows. With Austin being so musically inclined, it could happen.

He has been living there part time for a while. The shack, not the castle. Love causes us to do crazy things.

Just drove by there. Both houses along 3rd behind the castle have been torn down.

Hopefully he will ensure any potential Led Zeppelin reunion tour will swing through Austin...

I hope he's putting in a rehearsal and recording studio....what a blast it would be to walk into Stubbs or Antones only to see/hear Led Zeppelin getting the cobwebs outta their playlist.

I hate classic rock. But Led Zeppelin and 1970s Aerosmith are my two exceptions. Over the Hills and Far Away.

Not a knock on Austin, but I find it quite amazing that Robert Plant lives here.

Me too. I knew he was living here part time since he married Patty Griffin. But buying a home here, seems like he might be interested in staying a while.

Quite a few things have amazed me in the 20 or so years I've lived in Austin. Things I would have never, ever guessed would happen here. And in the spirit of the undeniable fact that truth is stranger than fiction:

Austin will not only bid for the Olympics in 2024, it will win and host it.

Here's an interview Robert Plant did with the Aussie version of 60 minutes that aired about a week ago. It's probably interesting to only true Plant/Zeppelin fans, and there is no mention of his current residence or plans/personal life in Austin. But I found it interesting since I'm a Zeppelin fan.
