Share your city's logo!

SignalHillHiker in the Canada subforum had a great idea for a thread sharing the "logos of your neighbourhood, city, province, and so on!" http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=201578

Since most of us don't live in Canada (great place though! ), and I didn't see an existing thread of the same topic, why don't we all share the logo(s) of where we live.

Where I live now:

http://www.sonoma-county.org/

Places I have lived (all in California):

^on that note:

For a more official "logo", here's the SF city seal:

The city flag is similar, also with a Phoenix rising from flames, and the same motto:

Looking good! Interesting how different the older seals look to the newer simpler logos. Let's keep 'em comin

This one isn't loading. But several years ago King County changed its namesake from a bad-guy named King to Martin Luther King, hence the new logo.

here's the seal of the former city of Carondelet (a one time ironclad shipyard) which is plastered all over that neighborhood on the far south side 6 miles south of downtown. it was a rival to st. louis and was absorbed by st. louis in 1870. the neighborhood i guess still maintains a little bit of an aire of independence.

Maisons-Alfort, some Paris suburb I live in

Central Paris that's a couple of miles away

Now the coolest logo we've got, that of our regional transit agency
http://www.etudelectricite.com/partenaires.ws

RATP stands for Régie Autonome des Transports Parisiens.
Their current motto is Aimer la Ville, love the city.
Lovely.

Ooh, yay! I'm even more excited to see global ones.

I'll share mine here as well.

This is the logo for the City of St. John's:

And here is our Coat of Arms:

Most of the crest's symbols relate to Saint John, our patron Saint, which was an important thing for a city to have in the 1500s. The man on the left is a 15th century sailor holding the date 1497, when Giovanni Caboto became the first European to set foot in Newfoundland since the Vikings 500 years earlier. The man on the right is a 16th century sailor holding the date 1583, which was when, under Elizabeth the First, the (then) village of Sao Joao (St. John's) and Terra Nova (the island of Newfoundland) were claimed by Britain (prior to that it was Basque, Breton, and Norman).
