Awesome thread! Chicago as we all know has plentiful gems.

The Liquor still has it's cone. We don't see that much these days, many older structures with cones, the cones have been lost. Good to see it's still sitting.

OUTSTANDING!!! I love all the old signs you see in Chicago. There's a great pedigree of mom & pop businesses that have stuck it out for a long time.

Chicago possesses that which I like.

Great old town. That's what Jesus and Mary had in mind when they thought about what a great city should be. And syphilitic Alphonse Capone is retired, which is a redeeming quality in and of itself. One day I will stroll its shoreline and leafy streets.

Wonderful shoots throughout. You've done a great job of capturing one of Chicago's greatest strengths:

a towering skyline that rises a relatively low scaled yet still incredibly rich urban landscape in the neighborhoods. I may be prejudice (indeed, I am), but I don't think any city does that as well as Chicago.

One question: were the far north shoots looking south along the lakefront to downtown taken in Evanston at the tip of the landfill at NU or somewhere north of Loyola in Rogers Park?

I'm guessing Evanston.

I always liking seeing your pictures of both the gritty and the pristine areas of the city.

One question though, where is that nice upscale-looking rowhouse block? (the one where in your picture, there is a blue acura suv parked out front)?

Nice pictures. The old European immigrant neighborhoods and their old signs look interesting. I'm not sure if I want to see any snow right now though.

Evanston, on the lake near Dempster or Main.

Geneva Terrace in Lincoln Park. It's a lovely little side street.

I know, I thought we'd be stuck with it for months, and it was almost completely gone in about two weeks.
