Philadelphia - aerials, night, and more

i visited Philadelphia for the first time for 3 days in October. too short of a trip but there'll be more to come. sorry for the quality on some of these but i was shooting from the airport shuttle. while it provided a nice neighborhood tour, the dirty windows gave some of the shots a "holga effect"

The first word that comes to my mind seeing photos of Philly is "solid." This is one solid-looking city worthy of respect.

Next time someone asks me why I love Philly so much, I will show them this thread. It's the Capital of Cool.

I know Volguus wasn't too happy you didn't hit him up but I think these photos did the WawaWooder justice.

What's the story behind this building? It's a shame it has fallen into disrepair, it's such a beautiful building, this kind of architecture is rare in North America.

you really cut yourself quite a swath there, eeeeeeel siiiiiiiiiiiiid.

nightsky, that's the divine lorraine. pretty incredible building in a not-entirely-profitable part of town to spend the money needed to fully rehab it. a few companies have tried and ultimately given up, leaving it in the state it's in now. its graffiti content has grown exponentially in the past year, it seems.

good show, ol' boy.

Damn, dude!

You did right by the 215 and covered a lot of ground. I live five blocks from the prison and work three blocks from it so at some point we were in the area at the same time. Thank you for showing off some of the fine fine gems hiding in plain sight.

And don't make it a million years til your next visit. A Philadelphia Brewing Co. Rowhouse Red with your name on it will be waiting.
