Montreal revisted

Since the tragic demise of my 18-70mm lens my city photography has come to a screeching halt so I decided to drag out some old shots to amuse and entertain you all (and in some cases bore you silly)

part 2 coming soon ...if there is enough interest

You're posting a Montreal thread and you even think for a second there wouldn't be interest in a Part 2? Insanity.

Seriously, if every thread in this section was Montreal I'd still be around here.

I really like that one shot....er, forget singling any of them out. This is full of awesomeness. Just like your last one.

That's a tragedy about your camera. SSP should do a whip round to get you more gear.

Another superb thread - so many masterpieces, and some of the best architecture photos I've seen you post - the lighting on some of them was just perfect. My favourite was this, and the sillhouette against the dome.

Your lens' demise was a real shame, but you certainly got a lot of beautiful work out of it. The great thing about threads of old photos is that we get to see cities in all four seasons, always a real treat. I'm looking forward to part 2

interest, interest, interest...

I can't believe you walked THE GAUNTLET OF TERROR!!

Is that where you lost the lens? To roving gangs of trash-strewing, graffiti-spraying, lens-stealing crackheads?

These pics are scary to look at. You sir are a god amongst men to brave these streets.

I notice a trend amongst Montreal photothreads; it's photos like this. What's up with all the giant face ads?

It all depends how successful my various illegal activities are...I kind of like the 16-85mm vr it looks like a solid lens and at $689 the price is not too hign....... http://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/m9.htm what I would really like is a Leica m9 (dream on)I used to have a contax G2 rangefinder with a couple wicked Carl-Zeiss lenses...you can't touch German optics
