Greensburg, PA: Snowsburg

While most people were staying inside staying warm, I went out on the treacherous roads and sub-freezing temperatures to get some snow shots. Oh yeah, there was also a blizzard warning issued. Enjoy!

The courthouse is almost whited out from Academy Hill.

Can he clean our roads as well?

No Polar Express today.

There were actually more people out driving around than I expected.

A stretch of active small businesses in town.

A skywalk in Greensburg.

The Cultural District

Good thing I didn't need to take a break!

Another person who braved the elements.

Hope their light doesn't burn out!

Westmoreland Museum of American Art

KDKA news truck sliding. Probably doing a story on why people shouldn't be out driving. WTAE was in another area of town.

Most recent extension off of the Courthouse.

Seton Hill University's brand new Performing Arts Center.

Recently built office building.

Snow stops for no one.

Train Station which was updated and had a restaurant added to it.

We need bigger trucks.

Small but effective plow.

This area of downtown has a variety of shops and a couple of upscale restaurants.

Seton Hill houses part of its art program off campus here.

Great shots. Excuse my ignorance but doesn't it snow much here. Looks like a typical winter in Thunder Bay to me unfortunately for me LOL.

Here are some more from the early evening:

Looking up Main Street

Kinderhook section of Greensburg.

A rare site...a snow free sidewalk.

Which way?

Heck of a tour. Greensburg has quite a nice downtown, including some decent sized buildings. The Westmoreland County Courthouse is a gem. The snow adds a nice touch (I've never been there in the winter). Thanks for braving the elements to get the pics.

wow... i figured you'd have about 15 photos or so... but you treated us to hundreds! Awesome job navigating this epic snowstorm in order to treat us to these wonderful images of a fantastic small urban node.

There appears to be a lot of exciting dining options in Greensburg.

The Westmoreland County courthouse is indeed a gem. Great set here. My grandfather was a Greensburger.

Hell the courthouse would make a good state capitol for several states.

Awesome. Thanks for braving the snow to bring us these.

Greensburg is by far my favorite satellite city in the Pittsburgh metro. So much character.

I've gone to the Red Star. Very nice place.

Also I tried to go see Social Distortion when they played here but it was sold out way in advance:

Best Greensburg photo tour ever!
