Orleans (not the new), France

Orleans is a city of 113,130 inhabitants, 275 000 in the urban area and 375 000 for the metro area.
It is located at 130 km of Paris

Orleans is the capital and the second most populated city of Centre Region. (my native Region)
A famous American city was named after it.
Orleans was heavily bombed during the second WW2.

Very nice, French cityscapes are just so damn attractive.

How extensive is the street car system?

Nice! I was there in May too... I posted a thread about this city a couple of months ago. It was kinda nice, but I liked Tours better. Orleans lacks the old city feel I love so much in Europe, even though it has a small historic centre.

One line and 24 station opened in 2000.

Funny how having your city bombed heavily still isn't as devastating as well-intentioned American urban renewal.

Looks like a pretty cool city.

Heck of an extensive tour. Looks quite dense and seems bigger than the population figures you gave. Nice street car system too. For a second I thought you might be posting pics of this Orleans:
