Ok, this has to be one of the coolest pics I've seen of Houston. Very nice. Thanks for posting those!

Those skyline and density shots of the Downtown area were amazing. Great work, Rev'.

I can remember the very first time I visited Houston 10 years ago & was so fascinated by all of the palm trees! I've lived in Texas all my life & never knew such a massive city existed just 200 miles away a long the Gulf Coast.

Great spread.

Also, that waterway is where the Buffalo Bayou and White Oak Bayou merge downtown. It is the site of Allen's Landing where the Allen Brothers of New York first started their "master plan" to build a city on the swamp.

I'll take my points in the form of more photos from you!

Jesus that is fantastic! Quality photographs...how did you get all these views? Parking garages, offices? Either way...fantastic! If this thread doesn't make one think Houston is dense, I dunno what will!

I love seeing every Texan thread I do, as it further changes my mind from the stereotypes. Although the heat still seems unbearable, and Houston and Dallas are still quite sprawly, just I never knew they had such a fun and very interesting urban scene until I've been seeing more and more in photos of each.

Come down in the mid to late fall, winter, and early spring and you won't find the temps unbearable at all. But mid spring through early fall...really unbearable even to many of us who have been here all our lives.

Im sure theyre are a lot of Texans, well, people that think Canada is full of people that live on igloos and never even see the sun. But by people posting pictures, we can find out that Canada actually has several nice cities. And these photothreads are great for that purpose: to let the world explore these great cities.

Can't say that I've known anyone who thought Canadians live in igloos, but I must say that this forum has certainly shown how beautiful Canadian cities are. I always knew Vancouver was spectacular, but via this forum I now know about the others, which I hope to visit some day!

I haven't found any other photo threads on the web that are as good as what is on SSP.

Do you know when those tall apartment/condo twin towers were built (in the photo you mentioned)? I'm thinking sometime in the 80s but I'm not at all sure.
