The Crescent City, La Nouvelle-Orléans, a NOLA trip (part 3333333333333 hint hint..)

Ok, here's the final part in my NOLA series, enjoy!

Quote:
I just got back from New Orleans and the city far outweighed my expectations. It has some of the most raw urbanity I've seen in the south. Many areas remind me of other places(in the country and the world), but at the same time, it's all very distinctive, very... New Orleans. I was originally going to break up my NOLA threads based on uptown/downtown, but everything is mixed up, so I'll just post it how it is.

(I know a lot of this stuff is touristy, but... I was a tourist )

Sad... we got into a bit of New Orleans fatigue, I think.

Who are "we" of which you speak? (Most of people here in America probably have more of Texas fatigue). Anyway how could anyone weary of New Orleans? I love the color, the manners, and that cute brunette with that sexy (South meets Brookyln) N.O. accent that I 'met' in the French Quarter last time. I need to go back.

I think it was said in the 1880's that there are only three cities in America: New York, San Francisco and New Orleans -though other cities like Chicago and Los Angeles have long surpassed the later two, these are still my top 3 favorites.

Absolutely beautiful pictures. It has been too long since I have been to NO. Your pictures are magnificent.

I hardly ever make it to the n-z photo threads. I really wish they'd all be on one thread again.

Great job (again) of capturing New Orleans. I love the "Ugly People $1 Extra" sign. I think I'd owe that guy five bucks...
