Weehawken, NJ

Weehawken in a town in Hudson County, New Jersey, just north of Hoboken and east of Union City and West New York. It has a lot of single family homes in an area that is almost entirely multi-family housing. The bulk of the town lies on top of the Palisades. Weehawken in on the western end of the Lincoln Tunnel, which connects New Jersey with Midtown Manhattan.

Weehawken's most distinguishing feature is the view...

Chealsea public housing, Chinatown, and downtown Brooklyn in one shot...

West New York towers, with new condo stuff down below

Columbia Presbyterian (sp?), up in the West 170's

Upper West Side. The tallest glass tower is on 100th, I think.

The Javits Center looks like someone left Kansas City's tallest building out in the sun and it melted.

Okay, let's turn around and look at Weehawken

We'll get to Weehaken in a minute...

49th Street, river-to-river

Hells Kitchen

Fulton Street, stepping back from the promenade

"We'll agree to disagree."

Weehawken is only a few blocks deep. We're looking into Union City.

The working river

Alexander Hamilton got Burr'd here.

So my Weehawken tour ended up being like 85% Manhattan. So it goes. It's a very neat town, though.

Looks nice. With Weehawken being so thin, does every house have a decent view of New York, or are some houses blocked pretty well by other buildings or hills or anything?

Great shots of New York!! Weehawken looks like a small town oasis surrounded by the city!! Thanks for sharing.

It took me a second to figure out what you were talking about, but that was pretty funny.

The Javits Center looks like someone left Kansas City's tallest building out in the sun and it melted.

New Jersey is a great state, though it has so many bad stereotypes.

Superb stuff mate, Id love one of those houses right down by the river!

The thing that always gets me with US neighbourhoods is all the wires slung across the streets. Its looks cool, something we havent got over in the UK.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. Whoa now. So that's what is up on those bluffs. Insanity! I can hardly comprehend that terminal vista...
