Northeastern suburbs of Paris : Aubervilliers

Aubervilliers is a commune in the northeastern suburbs of Paris, France (Seine Saint Denis). It is located 7.2 km. (4.5 miles) from Notre Dame.
Aubervillier is one of poorest municipality of Paris metro, desepit its high crime rate has been mostly spared by the riots

Land area : 5.76 km²
Population : 72,000

We begin in Porte de la Villette but I mostly stayed in the limit between Aubervilliers and Pantin.

hell, that looks like a revitalized area of a north american city. In the states we would say those streets have "character"

Wow. Thank you for the photos. I knew what the Parisian ghettos were like but I've never seen one. Personally, I would prefer a political protest turned riot to a mugging turned murder.

I love all the threads you do of out-of-the-way Paris. These shots remind me of parts of Queens.

Excellent pictures. Most Paris photo threads only show the inner touristy areas, but this one shows the Paris we don't get to see. Thanks.
