Las Vegas Photos

I was in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and took a ton of pics with my new camera when I was there. I finally got around to sorting and uploading them today, so enjoy!

Cool. Thanks for the pics. Las Vegas is a place we don't hear much about on ssp.

Thanks Phx PD. I always enjoy looking at what is happening in Vegas development and trying to decide what style might work in SLC. Some of the Hotels are a bit on the tacky side to me, but it is a resort and serves that purpose very well. I do like the Wynn alot, and the Paris is pretty attractive for a monster size hotel. Thanks again, Great Pics!

Las Vegas is always a fun place, plus there is something new built every time I go. The size of those hotels are crazy. They look so short because they are so massive.

Nice pictures.

That's because LV SSP folk are under the delusion that they're Angelinos, and post in the California thread.

Nice photos. Thanks for the pics of the bypass bridge at the Hoover Dam. I was involved with the redesign of US 93 on the Arizona approach to that bridge, and haven't been up there since I moved to Portland, so it's always good to see progress photos.

Great pictures. I'm surprised it took Trump that long to get his name on the strip. Anyways, what is that massive construction going on next to the Bellagio? That project looks huge!!

^ I was there June 25th thru the 28th mainly to see Jay Leno’s charity show, and I also went to watch the NBA Draft at ESPN Zone which was pretty cool.

CityCenter is an MGM/Mirage venture that puts all of the other projects in our region to shame. Here’s their website: http://www.citycenter.com/

I love seeing so many high rises in a city with only about 1.5Million people(metro) I think it's amazing what they have done considering there size, locatin, and natural resorces.
However, I don't think most of these buildings will last more then thirty years max, before they will be torn down and rebuilt. I understand that novelty is probubly what makes Las Vegas so attractive but if these projects were being built in SLC I would want them to be built to last, and not need to be replaced every twenty years.

That whole project is called 'City Center', and it contains both hotel and residential uses. I think they even have an office part of it as well, since the whole thing stretches from I-15 all the way in to the Strip. It reminds me of a construction site in Dubai- three towers of 57 stories, plus a few smaller ones. I went into the Sales Center in the Bellagio and condos were starting at around 400k.

Here is the project website:
http://www.citycenter.com/

And here is the actual model I saw in the Sales Center. Kind of small, but i forgot my camera on my trip

Las Vegas passed 2 million last year.

Most of the new stuff is residential or at least partially residential (City Center, Cosmo, and Fountainblue) so it’s not likely they will be torn down. I also seriously doubt hotels like the Wynn, Palazzo or Bellagio will be demolished in my lifetime. They are a far cry from the puny hotels of the past.

Mrs. Conquistador and I were discussing a trip to Vegas in the near future, seeing these pics makes me want to check it out even more.

Nicely done!
