Eastern outer suburbs of Paris : Val d'Europe

Do you really think that the fake old building only exist outside Europe.

Val d'Europe is a part of the new town known as Marne-la-Vallée. The final area of the district is currently in development. It is located around 35 km to the east of Paris, near Disneyland Resort Paris. Val d'Europe was built in conjunction with the Walt Disney Company, who wished to create a town near Disneyland.
The architectural style takes inspiration from the "neo-traditional" style of Haussmann, who designed some of the buildings seen in western Paris. The town was designed based upon New Urbanism, a design philosophy of the 1940s which is frequently used in the United States. Disney had previously created a New Urbanist city in Florida, known as Celebration.

To be honest the only good thing of this place is that it is more multicultural and multiracial than I throught.

I love Paris. I really need to refocus on learning French again so that I can take another trip there and experience it as best as possible. I took four years of French in high school and also a few courses in college, but I don't remember much of it at all anymore.

This actually seems like a pretty decent example of new urbanism.

They tried too much to duplicate the atmosphere of a village.

Ugh. How awful. It looks like every other "new urbanism" claptrap thats been slapped up in every city in N. America in the last 10 years. Malls, strip malls, shopping for overpriced shit that nobody can afford. Awful. Simply awful. Those pictures could be from Dover, New Hampshire, Kent, England, Houston or Honolulu. I really thought the French had more sense and taste than that. Sigh.... How utterly soul sucking. No wonder some of those suburban kids riot in the streets. I would too - just for having my tastes and senses offended.

What an idiotic statement. So there may not be malls (open air or otherwise, btw I don't see any stripmalls)) in France? What's that? The 11th commandment or something? And show me a development like this in Houston which has the trainstation instead of the huge parking lot.
French suburban kids rioted because of this? Really...
