I've been missing Goald Coast City. Too bad you've had so much bad luck with your computers.

Well here's a new start. I've decided to quickly finish off a small city complete with all details and then expand later hopefully with some more exiting stuff than in this pic. These are just a few fillers.

I've recreated whatsit called and also you may notice the tower which originated from a drawing by Patrick which now has it's glazed roof gardens.

The city is now set in 2020 were road transport is at a minimum due to the oil DROUGHT of 2015+. The country mainly relies on the recent nuclear power project and huge investment in power storage and delivery - meaning most things run from nuclear generated electricity, People travel by minirail, rail and other forms of transport including huge powered walkway zones etc.

Oh and Q2 is there also.

Pulled the render early and will update later

Hi . yeah i'll take it slow on buildings because i really want to finish all my ideas for landscaping but i've never got that far into it before a file crash or deletion etc.

I want to change to above to 'Nuclear fusion power project' as the technology seems to be more closer per current news.

Amazing! You just started this!? Amazing!!! The skyline looks really nice and I especially like the effect those lowrises at the waterline make.

Thansk yeah i've had some practise But many of those are modelled in a few easy steps by using the follow me tool to create the entire building.(apart from Q1{Q2} which took me 5 hours

If interested i can post a tutorial. The method is fun and also opens your mind to many SU possibilites.

OMG! Components and Follow Me tool are amazing!

Anyways, that looks fucking awesome Mo! You have no idea of the talent you have. Or maybe you do... But anyways, that looks really good. Looks like Hong Kong [ish] or Pudong [ish]. Q2 actually looks really good in that location. The small apartment building on the bottom of the picture makes the city feel more alive and realistic.

Again, you are one of the best Sketchup-ers! And you render really good too. How do you do it?!?!?!

Okies i will create a tutorial

It is very Hong Kong inspired - My 3rd favorite city (although my Patriotism creates a biased opinion) Hong Kong kicks ass.
Right back at ya Aleks. You definately have more imagination than i do and i really am looking forward to seeing a big city renda from you. I'm certain it will make mine look silly.

The most important thing with rendering is the sun angle. It should project from behind the camera around 15 degrees to the side . Pretty similar to where you want the sun to be when doing photography.

An update - This is pretty much it until i complete all the ground detail so i can finally present a full city. After that i will still add to the city in stages of construction for realism. I also learned how to create games from SU models but it's gonna take a bit of experimenting.
