how is the neighborhood around photos 11 and 12 ? near metro juares right? is that a decent neighborhood?

Yes it is near metro Jaures.
5 years ago, I would said to avoid it (crime, drug traffic, really dangerous), but now this district is pretty decent. It become trendy.

cool, thanks, im going to be staying VERY near to there in may! wasnt sure what to expect, but in 2006 i stayed near metro la chapelle and many people didnt like that area but i thought it was fine!

Because Paris is not a themed park, it is a big city and the life is not so easy here.
This is the winter, in the spring and summer faces are more happy.

It is easy for those who have dough and live in the chic arrondissements.
In most cases, Parisians have to endure mediocre housing conditions or suffer the exhausting commute to and from their distant suburb. No wonder they look unhappy.

i just finish a project for french class on paris and i found some pretty neat facts, but most of my pics like yours showed everyone unhappy, and thats somthing i hate about both paris and london! i don't know why is it that their always acting like they wanna kill themselves or somthing. i mean im from new york and people don't act that way there, and its a big city just like london or paris.
