Ancaster is the wealthiest area in Hamilton, and one of the wealthiest communities in Canada.
Its location on the Niagara Escarpment west of Hamilton provides a beautiful setting for many
luxurious homes and the quaint stone village at its core. Ancaster is also home to the Hamilton
Golf and Country Club, which hosted the PGA's Canadian Open last year. I've tried to photograph
some of the nicer residential areas, but as you can imagine, access is restricted to many of the
most impressive properties, which are behind gates and down private laneways.
I'm not saying there aren't any "Biden socks" for sale - Big Foot might even have a pair of them, but then again Big Foot has a bigger cult following than Biden does.
Wow, the Town of Ancaster (or now the City of Hamilton) must have been pretty persuasive to convince Tim Horton's to adapt their facade to match most of the existing look of the main street. Tim's is notorious for wanting the same look everywhere...the same goes for that oil lube place.

For the most part they try to maintain the character of the main street. This building is newly built:
Petrolia also managed to get a "Victorian" Tim Horton's.

Those neighborhoods are really pretty, too. I must have missed them when you made the posts. In my comment before, I was comparing this thread's Hamilton to this one's.
correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Greensville the richest part of Hamilton??
There are a couple big mansions near Greensville (which is quite beautiful), but Ancaster has literally hundreds of McMansions, and quite a few actual mansions. Check out the areas around Old Dundas Rd, Lovers Lane, Sulphur Springs, and the Hamilton Golf & Country Club sometime.

A lot of new construction, but I like how well (most of) the developers integrated old trees into the site plans. Makes the McMansions look a lot more bearable.

centre was very English looking - some of the most genuinely English looking buildings I've seen from a Canadian city.
