After 30 years of waiting, Time Equities is getting ready to debut its Helmut Jahn-designed tower at 50 West Street. Just one of the oodles of new new residential buildings springing up in the Financial District, 50 West secured $400 million in financing earlier this year for the 63-story condo building with retail, a restaurant, one floor of office space, and the usual luxury amenities. A public plaza with a pedestrian walkway will connect West and Washington streets. So what's next? A teaser site, which just launched today, that includes some new panoramic renderings (screencapped above and below). Thomas Juul Hansen has also been tapped for the interiors. Also, sales will launch in the spring of 2014, with construction projected to be complete in 2016.
That stretch will finally be a showstopper if that hideous brown abomination of a building next door to this is ever razed.
Also, something needs to be done about that bad Battery Garage. Surely they can make way for underground parking there? There shouldn't be above ground parking in NYC. Doubt it will ever happen though.

How long ago? I thought the developers got a loan recently?
Although the blurb did say they "secured a loan earlier this year (2013)". But I'm not sure when exactly.
