Suburbs? I understand Europe's suburbs are quite urban but how far away is this from the Eiffel Tower for instance?

That looks too central Paris to me with some modern characteristics of course.

That said, great pics.

You could walk to the Eifel Tower from this neighborhood. It would be a healthy walk of a few kilometers, but it would be very doable. I have walked from nearby Alisea (just within Paris city limits) to the Right Bank which is a much longer walk. It took me about ninety minutes.

Paris city proper is very small. Many of its suburbs are quite dense and urban, especially to the west and to the south.

Paris is a tiny city only 100 km2 in fact the real size city of Paris is larger than the municipality.

When we know this, la Defense is in the core of Paris urban area.
It is at about 8 km (5 miles) of the Eiffel tower.

Minato Ku, wouldn't you say 1,2 and 8eme are the centers of the Paris urban area? Or maybe more liberally, 1-4 and 8-10? La Defense isn't that important outside of its business function.

I really like your pics. Would love to see more shots of the southern suburbs.

It's the financial centre of Paris, but not the origin, which I think is what he's getting at, that old Paris and arrondissements 1,2 and 8 are the geographic focal point of the city and its development.

Fantastic pics, though, great to see some less seen Paris.

I know, I live in the 7th arrondissement
It is cheap for me, but in fact it is more expensive than some Parisian arrondissement.

France can even do suburbs right. What I would do to live in a suburb like this. Truly beautiful. Great pics.

Great pics!

But seriously, to everyone wondering how far these suburbs are from central Paris...
Sure Paris is a "tiny" city (but still 2 times the size of Manhattan) and sure these inner suburbs are relatively close, but no way they are part of central Paris and while doable, walking to the Eifel is quite a distance.

EDIT-

It's nearly 6km as the crow flies.
