went by the site today

i went by the site today and spoke with a construction worker there. He said that they have another 12 feet to dig down before they start doing water/sewage/foundation work....he wasn't sure when the foundation work would start, but guessed in a couple of weeks...

Wow, that excavator has a really long arm. It almost looks like it's going to fall in.

I can't wait

I can't wait...this building is so close to being under construction...

the excavator looks like one of the ones that was being used at the Chicago spire pit before it got too deep...

1706 is laying the blue print for how to build a 300'+ tower on a very small lot.

20th and Walnut is of similar size...

Yeah, seriously, that shit is deep.

Imagine if it stalls for some reason and they have to fill that back up.

Why is does this thread remain in the proposed section? Is it just a technicality or is there a real threat that this building would not be built?

Technically, it is still in the site prep stage so until they start laying some sort of foundation, it's not under construction. Not to mention, the actual construction crews aren't on site now...just the guys who get to build one big hole.

It won't be long now though.

Under the amenities for this building it describes an automated garage. Maybe that's why the hole is so deep???

You are correct. The automated garage required them to dig down 40 ft below street level. They are almost there...
