Tons of Stunning Japan (Mostly Osaka) Aerials

Stumbled upon some great galleries of aerial daytrips around Japan from local aviation nut Hyouguchi...

Around Osaka

Umeda skyline view from Osaka Itami Airport (domestic...where herds of 777s await to take you on an hour's journey)

Itami overview

Departing Itami

Huge view of where the Yodo river meets Osaka bay

Takarazuka city and environs after Itami departure

Takarazuka station area

Port of Kobe

Eastbound view of Nara and suburban environs on approach to Itami

Some random park complete with imitation dutch windmill

Yodo river view on approach to Itami

Suburban Osaka

Runway 32L approach with westbound views...

Osaka castle

Umeda massive

Osaka night arrival views (same approach)

Itami Airport monorail

Other

Departing Kumamoto, Kyushu island

Akashi-Kaikyo Bridge (world's longest suspension span)

northern Shikoku and the Inland Sea

Tokushima Airport and environs (east end of Shikoku island)

metro Nagoya

Shizuoka city and Mt. Fuji

gorgeous countryside while slowing down for arrival at Tokyo Haneda

Tokyo Bay sprawl

Final approach to O-shima island, quick getaway from Tokyo Haneda

Departing Haneda

Destination Hachicho-jima (another stone's throw from Tokyo)

Departure from Naha, Okinawa

Port of Sasebo, Kyushu island

Japanese domestic meal service (if you pay 5,000 yen extra for SuperSeat)

I once flew from Haneda to Kumamoto on an ANA 767 with a grand total of 8 passengers on board (I counted). Ah, to experience something like that here in the States...

Takarazuka is in SE Hyogo prefecture, 30 min NW of central Osaka. It's famous around the country for its traditional theatre company. Not a huge place - about 250,000 residents. What a nice little highrise cluster for its size

Taking an airplane and looking out the window can be so fun, you almost don't want to land!

Awesome stuff. urbanflyer, do you have anymore aerials with Mount Fuji? I love it how that mountain pokes up like that above the landscape.

Damn, some really nice photos in here. Love that last Fuji-san shot urb! I didn't get to see it till we were about 20,000' outbound from Narita. It sat on the horizon though over the clouds for the next hour or so as we headed SW.

Sweet! I'm going to Japan on the 19th of October. Staying in Osaka at the beginning of November! Can't wait! That got me even more excited.
