The good thing about the picture section here is that they apparently don't allow "Google threads" (ie pictures that've been found on a Google picture search). SSC is full of crappy threads like that which IMO have no value.

I hate those, especially when we've got some 14 year old kid making the same thread again and again all over SSC... I mean, Chile is nice, but I don't want to see it in the EE forum. What's wrong with those people, don't they understand that Santiago is not in eastern Europe?
The other trolls are from the philippines

Then there's the post count problem. Those kids go to the RoT forums, and post in a hundred threads in a row, giving just grades, and then being all happy that they've increased their post count.
And the admins don't want to turn that option off, why not? What do we need the post count for anyway! Put a reputation level, that is much better, and we can find the spammers if they get bad points

From Gothic:

as you might have noticed our dns server has gone tits up but if you have a windows computer you can easily run your own.
simply download the hosts file listed below to the \system32\drivers\etc directory of your windows directory, turn off web proxies and hit refresh.
please remember do NOT overwrite the hosts.ini file but rather the hosts. one. if you already have a hosts file just modify it to add the ssc ip address and domain name.
now ssc will work for you too!
cheers
james

maybe, because when the server is busy, only registered members can join, while others cannot browse thru SSP then

they even post many pics of their hometowns (including the name of the town!) in the Guess the City section

now i just patiently wait untill SSC will be back
unfortunately i'm not in HK right now to take some pics, sorry.

^there is actually explanation what to do few posts above.

open windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts, if you have windows 5.0 (2000) or higher, or windows\hosts, if you have windows 9x in the notepad

or /etc/hosts if you have unix based system (linux, bsd including macosx etc) in any text editor

note the file does not have any extension.

and add two strings at the end of file

I think fake members, who dont use their id for 6 months, are automatically deleted. (or something like that)

The mad hatter's pretty much right. I had a look at the member list over there and there are around 44400 members in total, 30500 of these have under 10 posts.
