Build like the Hudson Yards or 15 Penn Plaza! They’re cool too!

But land in Manhattan for an embassy close to the UN is probably priceless to a foreign government.
I guess it still has a chance, Cuozzo just doesn't want it built so will convince himself as such, people believe what they want to.

The logistics would be tricky, I think there was something a while back discussing potential for a Citicorp style overhang but who knows, I'm not sure how they would build this thing if the embassy doesn't sell.

I only want this built if the design changes for the better.

Macklowe owns the Venezuelan consulate site. He owns the entire lot for Tower Fifth.

When I last checked ACRIS a few months ago, he didn’t own it.

It’s not landmarked. The landmark on the right (11 W. 51) would be the last of the 3 to remain.

The selling of the Venezuelan site is a political issue that may or may not be resolved with the new administration, but we won’t get in to that.

It’s the middle piece on 51st that’s missing.

i thought nyyimby said it was but turns out it was just a commenter. the consulate property likely wont be resolved, but regardless its not an issue as st pats has air rights and they can build around it. this tower fifth supertall is wacky enough anyway lol.

Macklowe has been quiet about it. They can probably build without that piece (the building floats in air), but it would be much better with it, and would probably be required to get the zoning. Maybe.

Too bad for this building...
Probably they will never build this cool but then booed skyscraper. Well, Central Park Tower will rule as tallest til’ 2028-2029 surpassed by Grand Hyatt Tower (175 Park Avenue).

To each their own, I'm glad this monstrosity likely won't be "gracing" NYC's skyline.

Unless of course, something does get resolved?

To be honest, let’s ignore this ugly sibling of 432 Park Avenue...

Tho I like this cool building but it might be too late or expired for the building to start demolition then construction. So that probably means Central Park Tower is going to rule even longer up until 2048.

Square, no rectangles.

I hate the slim side, I want Tower 5th to be squared like 432 Park Avenue.

The biggest problem for me is that open top. I hate it.

But I would love to see this...

I like the top sort of but I want them to change the design, however, they should keep 432 Park Avenue-like appearance which is cool. Unlike 432 Park Avenue though, the building probably needs a shiny blue appearance with a bunch of glass panels like Manhattan West to make it more futuristic similar to 56 Leonard. It sounds weird, but it should fit the building.

We’re not gonna talk about what’s getting built in other places. But I don’t think we’ll get any large blue glass towers in midtown east.
