Not a whole lot of work just yet, but there is someone over at DetroitYes that has a good view of the site. Looks like they are clearing the perimeter of its vegetation.

I see the National Theater in that last photo. Is the entire lighter colored section to be saved?

Is there a true fence installed? I can't tell. Perhaps those are going up and then permits will be issued

Anyone have any news as to when they’re going to finally get moving on excavation. This parking lot has be intact much longer than expected.....3 1/2 months since groundbreaking and counting.

I’ve been wondering the same thing. They’ll have to start soon if they want to remain on schedule.

Possibly using the same crew that is working to finish up the underground on Hudson project? Once finished at Hudson's we may see them move to Monroe?

Excavation isn't until later in spring. So we're still a number of weeks away from seeing anything major happen.

That's kind of been the norm. The groundbreaking ceremony for the Hudson's site was December of 2017. Actual demolition of the parking garage didn't visibly start until April 2018.

Little Ceaser's Arena was a bit long; groundbreaking in September 2014, actual activity didn't start until mid-2015 like around June or July.

Thanks for providing that perspective. Once things really ramp up with with all these projects we’ll look back and laugh. We’re all like kids on Christmas morn wanting our presents now. We have Gilbert’s Hudson tower, Monroe Blocks phase 1, chemical bank Headquarters, and the Mid all rising from the ground at about the same time line. To add to that we have all the mid rise projects and the residential projects. I dare say this period were about to enter may surpass the 1920 building boom.

A semi with a large amount of steel on pallets unloaded this past week. No large round steel tubes like Hudsons site foundation . These are mostly flat like something for walls or flooring of garage structure as they dig out the pit.

Sounds like sheet piling for retention walls for an underground garage or basement.
