Great shots Harley! I think this is the only angle where SoBa looks half decent

It looks like both towers were up to floor 23 today

Thanks, as always, for the progress pics.
It looks decent so far. The dark coloured mullions look way better than the aluminium-look ones on so many other condos around.
Claridge is still incapable of mounting two different building elements flush with each other though.

Wow, really starting to make an impact on the skyline. Probably the biggest impact on our west skyline in many years. Quality looks good so far!

It's hard for any building to have an impact on the skyline with the height restrictions, so development in the Escarpment District is welcome. We had Cathedral Hill and that one new tower on Bronson near the St. Vincent, but these are even more impactful. Glad Claridge has put in a little more effort on these than what they did with Icon and Plazas.

Can't wait to see the M+M towers go up. Those won't just have an impact they will be transformational.

Not going to lie, I actually think the quality of the cladding materials look pretty darn good so far. I'll reserve my final judgement until I see more of it climbing up the tower portions though.

"Escarpment District"?

What falls into that zone?

Bordered by Wellington, Lyon and Laurier and sometimes includes the new Library site and Albert/Slater junction.

What's with all the RVs? Are the being stored there? You would think there would be much cheaper places outside the core if that is the case.

I did not notice those RVs. All the same brand too. I assume it's just for an event or something. Maybe they are all staying at the Delta or Marriott and can't park in the underground garages.

There was a movie being filmed at the Ottawa Technical High School when I was in the area last week - perhaps associated with the production?

Forgot about that. Makes a lot of sense.

Lots of movies around town recently. Crappy Hallmark like movies, but good for the economy none-the-less.

Off topic, but I saw this on Reddit the other day:

Oprah Winfrey Network shot a few here recently. I got to a set visit for the one that was shot in the market. It was starring a fairly well-known Black actress from the U.S.

Correct - I don't know what production but I do recognize them as production vehicles.

Looks like they are on floor 26 now, so just about topped out.

I'm still hoping we get the terrace on the lower podium section. While I would say this building is above average it doesn't have much in the way of any defining feature.

The camera on my newish phone sure beats the pants off my last one! It was a lot darker out than the photo shows and it doesn't seem overly grainy.

I'm holding my breath waiting for the white frame feature on that lower podium terrace to pop up. That seems like one of those features Claridge would cheap out on as part of their bait & switch program.

The construction of this building is overtaking the Icon. Now let's hope the LRT is running smoothly by the time it's finished

Thanks for posting. Looks pretty good. Love the glazing on the ground floor. Black coloured mullions look far better than the silver at Icon. All in all, this is pretty decent.

I echo Harley's concerns about the framing at the terrace level. The look of the building will be completely different if they choose to not have it. The Slater is a good example of that, where they eliminated that feature, which makes for a far more mediocre final product.
