When do you think Terry A Francois Boulevard will be realigned and 16th Street widened?

I don't know other than that I believe both things have to be complete when the arena opens in order for the Warriors to execute their traffic management plan.

I also posted this in the Mission Bay thread since Uber is a general topic for the area, but it's also specific to Chase Center: Uber is taking at least half and possibly all of the office space that's part of the arena project.

^^I'm not an Uber hater--I'm a fan and regular user in fact. But I'd be careful giving them a big lease of any duration right now. The CEO seems to have gone bonkers, the President quit this morning and there is general turmoil in the executive suite.

Two Executives to Leave Uber, Adding to Departures
By MIKE ISAACMARCH 19, 2017

The number of executive departures from Uber is growing.

Jeff Jones, Uber’s president of ride sharing, has left the company after just six months, Uber said on Sunday. In addition, Brian McClendon, vice president of maps and business platform at Uber, also plans to leave at the end of the month.

The two men are exiting Uber under very different circumstances. Mr. Jones, who was poached from Target to be Uber’s No. 2 executive, resigned after the ride-sharing company’s chief, Travis Kalanick, said he needed leadership help and began a search for a chief operating officer.

Mr. McClendon is departing amicably from Uber and will be an adviser to the company. In a statement, he said he was moving back to Kansas, where he is from, to explore politics . . . .

The departures add to the executive exodus from Uber this year. Raffi Krikorian, a well-regarded director in Uber’s self-driving division, left the company last week, while Gary Marcus, who joined Uber in December after Uber acquired his company, left this month. Uber also asked for the resignation of Amit Singhal, a top engineer who failed to disclose a sexual harassment claim against him at his previous employer, Google, before joining Uber. And Ed Baker, another senior executive, left this month as well . . . .

Given the location (slightly out of the way) and that it's not a tower, it's easy to forget about this project but the work has become crazily intense:

They are wasting no time!

There appears to be some serious excavating going on now, not just shoving dirt around. They have a ramp up to street level that could be 12-15 ft high from the low point.

If you haven't taken a look at this site in a while, the progress is almost shocking. They now have 3 tower cranes up and in operation and the site is a beehive:

For the first time I think you can get a sense of the round form of the actual arena:

Central Subway could start partial service in time to serve Warriors’ arena
By Michael Cabanatuan
Updated 5:24 pm, Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Even before the Central Subway’s delayed Chinatown Station is completed, Muni could begin providing limited service on the rest of the line, perhaps in time to haul fans to and from the Warriors’ new Chase Arena when it’s projected to open in fall 2019, The Chronicle has learned.

Limited service, which would need approval from the state Public Utilities Commission, could ease a potential problem if the subway isn’t open in time for the arena’s scheduled debut in August 2019 and the start of the NBA season a couple of months later . . . .

The $1.6 billion Central Subway, an extension of the T-Third line from Fourth and King streets to Chinatown, was supposed to be open early in 2019. But an independent federal monitor said earlier this year that continued delays on the Chinatown Station would push the opening back about 10 months.

Construction is moving swiftly on stations at Union Square at Stockton and Geary streets and near Moscone Center at Fourth and Folsom streets. Track has been laid through the subway’s portal near Bryant Street, through the Yerba Buena/Moscone Station, and rail crews are headed toward the Union Square/Market Street Station. All of the rail, except through the Chinatown Station, should be completed by January . . . .

Anyone know where the Warriors practice facility will be? I’m assuming they’ll be moving out from their downtown Oakland facility too.
