Whoever owns that lot is the absolute worst. I just picture it being some senile old man, or some guy who thinks he's overly clever. For YEARS it had a sign that read .033 acres! No wonder it took so long to sell. They don't even understand decimal points.

Now some stupid name like Howie Do It. I refuse to believe that these are two separate people. Who couldn't get the sign right, then gives the project the dumbest name in the world. Seriously, is this a DIY radio show or a place that people want to live?

Will Bruder proposed a slender 23 story tower on that lot. It's a shame that it didn't happen.

A lot of complexes don’t change names when they sell but Alliance and Wood Partners insist on calling everything Broadstone and Alta, respectively. Makes no sense when they know they are going to sell their complex within a couple years, shoot one year for these places now. Wish they would just agree to keep the Alta name. Now I gotta look at this messed up sign for probably 6 months before they decide to change the sign to a sign that probably won’t look as good, ugghhh.

According to their website, the Verde Park Condos have already sold 75% of their units. Didn’t realize they were doing so well

New Alta project replacing the Blue Water Grill

I didnt know this was closed:

Quote:
Multifamily housing developer, Wood Partners recently submitted plans to the City of Phoenix Planning Department for a new five-story luxury multifamily development to be built just east of the NEC of 16th Street and Camelback Road.

The project, called Alta Bluewater, is planned as a 216-unit “modern luxury” multifamily development composed of a mix of 146 one-bedroom and 70 two-bedroom dwelling units in several different floor plans. The units will range in size from 677 square feet to 1,244 square feet.

The purpose of the project is to “provide a quality modern urban living experience, both internally and externally for its future residents,” the project narrative states. The modern building design uses, “brick and stone veneers, textured fiber cement siding, use of a varied light, midrange and dark color palette as well as movement in the elevation at the base, middle and top of the structure with a number of square ‘units’ of for alternating size and scale.”

The aquatic name of the development as well as the blue artistic lighting on the building and a water feature to be displayed along a pedestrian connection will pay tribute to the site’s former use, the Bluewater Grill restaurant.

On site amenities will include a clubhouse with a lounge, pool and recreation area, outdoor kitchen and open space. The fifth level of the development will feature the Club Deck which will be shaded by a roof projection added to the façade.

The development will also include a fully wrapped, seven story parking structure to house approximately 346 parking spaces and 50 secure bicycle storage spaces. Another 10 clubhouse parking spaces will be provided for a total of 356 spaces.

The project has not gone received city approval yet. In an email to BEX researchers, Wood Partners stated that they anticipate starting construction May 2021.

Wouldn't it be cool if the project replacing Blue Water Grill had a new Blue Water Grill inside it?

In a strange way I always found it (maybe it's signage) to be a bit iconic when passing that part of the 51. I guess it's time for that parcel's highest and best use...

Just noticed that Hyatt Place construction will be visible in the lower-left corner of the City of Phoenix East webcam:
