Good video. The only thing they didn't mention as adjacent to point #1 about new housing is zoning. For some reason, some people believe that stricter zoning regulations and/or height limits help housing affordability somehow.

To say I agree with every point would be an understatement. I once was at an event here in NY when someone started in with the line about how the city was being destroyed by luxury condos etc etc and I reminded her that without those "monstrocities of capitalism" all those people living in them would be coming for her apartment. That caused considerable pause.

The sad reality is that gentrification has become a wedge/culture war issue in many cities. It's now something the far-left uses for rallying the base rather than actually addressing the problem.

The biggest myth should be that its affordable in the first place. It still takes market rate labor and materials to construct. Free up some land and revive the homestead act, then we'll see some interesting results.
