East-facing design is hot garbage, but can't complain about this much glass when compared to our other recent developments.

UEB finally has a construction camera up for Rendezvous: https://ueb.net/webcam55.html

Also, Donut Bar (originally from San Diego if anyone has been to their location in downtown SD) has filed for a liquor license at 33 N 6th in the Arizona Hotel.

Red Lit Building 5-24-19

On Friday May 24 I was looking downtown from the westside just after sunset and noticed a rectangular building north of downtown which was completely lit red with LED lights. The entire west side of the building was lit red.

I figured it was either the SIPHER building or one of the new dorms off of Park Ave. I looked for it through the weekend but have not seen the lights again. Anyone know which building this was, and the event?

Thanks.

I'm not 100% positive on this, but I'm pretty sure the Southwest side of the McClelland Park building at Park Ave and 4th St has lights on the facade that cycle colors. Maybe it was red for something special over the holiday weekend?

January 8 Memorial

http://www.tucsonsmemorial.org/memor.../final-design/

http://www.tucsonsmemorial.org/parti...opportunities/

The link above provides additional images of the Jan 8 Memorial expected to be completed by January 2020. Still looks good despite the cutback in design from the original plan due to the state declining to help with the funding. It will feature a memorial wall and garden with a water feature, 13 planted survivor trees, and lanterns.

A few smaller developments all around the 5 Points area have either been updated or newly proposed. I will link to their permit page and you can click on on the site plans:

The Baffert on the northeast corner of 6th Ave and 18th street has an updated design. 20ish apartments with groundfloor retail
https://www.tucsonaz.gov/pro/pdsd/pe...0166/11707226A

The Flash TV building proposal has been submitted. It is now three buildings and stretches south across 19th st. 52 apartments and 3500 sqft of retail:
https://www.tucsonaz.gov/pro/pdsd/pe...0233/117081040

18 W 18. House and Empty lot west of 5 Points on 18th street. 18 two and three story apartments/condos and one house remodel.

I don't understand the documents. Did the city approve or deny the developers request to swap zoning for parcels A & B?

It is my understanding that it is done. The Historic designation was removed from the lot at the northeast corner of 18th and 6th and moved to the triangle "Ugly but honest" lot at Stone/6th/18th. This allows the Baffert development to move forward without accommodating historic neighborhood guidelines.

The Townsend Medical Collaborative

Nice little office building...what's funny is that the area battled so hard to NOT let TMC go above its current height.
