These sound like nice changes. Is there any actual progress on the site since this time last year?

Don't know if it's been mentioned already, but there are several sites for sale that likely would be redeveloped in the future:
  • Rainforest Cafe in River North
  • Site north of SONU apartments on Fremont (was supposed to be a hotel)
  • Vitamin Shoppe on North Ave as well as the four buildings to the south on Clybourn

Also, the City Colleges HQ building on Jackson and Franklin is being converted into a Hilton Garden Inn + Canopy hotel with rooftop bar. Should help add some life to the Loop outside business hours.

Did you mean the City Colleges building at Jackson and Franklin? That area is definitely in need of some night life. I walked out of the Sears Tower a few months ago at around 9pm looking for a night cap and had to settle for O’Neil’s on Wells because it was the only place nearby that was open.

Also the Old Navy\Gap building in the loop is prime lot for redevelopment...would be perfect spot for something very tall... NY based Georgetown realty is cooking up something for this site.
