Post vax view to greet Javits Center visitors

Curious what the cranes hanging out of the windows, maybe hoisting the glass panels into place?

the northwest (where Javits happens to be) is the best perspective to appreciate the spiraling terraces.

Well I dunno maybe the ascending terraces wrapping up around the building have something to do with the moniker??

I mean sure it’s not overly exaggerating in the design... but that’s actually what I like about it.

Rob Speyer bets workers will return to the (fancier) office

.....There is also The Spiral, a splashy new office tower at the edge of Hudson Yards in New York that features a garden winding around its 65 stories like a vine. Half of the Spiral will become the new headquarters for Pfizer, the pharmaceuticals company at the Covid-19 vaccine vanguard. The rest remains to be leased.

Underlying it all is Speyer’s conviction that the corporate office — while evolving — will remain an essential and valuable piece of real estate for years to come, and that leading technology companies, which Tishman increasingly courts, will have the means to pay for it.

By starting early with the greenery they can maybe figure out what actually works and stays alive (and maybe plug leaks) by the time the building is fully open.

It also helps with the leasing if they can take people out onto a terrace with some greenery in place. We know Pfizer will get half (thanks for the vaccine), but there’s a decent amount still in play for other large tenants.
