I agree but the issue with The Kensington Building, is not only the narrow floor plate, which I personally like but for years, the govt. agencies there had angry protesters much of the time for years, scaring off people to go inside the tower or bank etc....

If the TNS LC had high end product that was only sold there, educational space, the cork your own wine, etc they could push up the size of the front but that size is close to double most suburban grocery stores. It would be about half the size of the Polo Target which is just nuts.

Even if the size is out there is no reason the Ellice permit business couldn't be relocated to the new site. Either way, if true, this is one heck of a consolation prize for TNS.

Edit: for additional perspective the rumored size would be more than three times the size of the Grant Park store.

The renderings show it will really change the area. The hotel goes on the Carlton site. There is also a Scotia Bank tower. Looks very cool

I'm a bit confused by the Sutton Place render they show. It has two towers, which would seem to be located on the Carlton Inn site.

OK, so to no one's surprise the curves on the buildings are nowhere near as dramatic as they were on the earlier concept, but at least they're still there, sort of. The eastern building is OK in that regard, but the northernmost building is just kind of a slab with a little angle jutting out at the top.

The courtyard area looks good, even better than before. I see the little tuxedoed orchestral group is still playing on the stage in the fountain!

OK, now I see the hotel complex with two towers on the Carlton Inn site. Hey, this part is great... better than I expected. Looks classy, like something right out of Vancouver. And I'm sure the RBCCC loves the fact that it will literally be across the street from their building and not closer to the MTS Centre as the earlier concept seemed to have it.
