Either that or the building is designed for the robots after the uprising.

It's just all the Californians burnt to a crisp after the first day of summer--frozen in their daily lives, slowly collapsing to ash.

I think its a good way to equalize skin color. They're not leaving anyone out or under counted this way. Safe.

I’d bet that is exactly why it was done. But it is still creepy as fuck.

Its also better than using 800 photoshopped stock photos with different resolutions or perspectives.

Nice! It's good to see it on the actual 98 Red River site. Maybe they can demo the foundations left over from the 2016 site demo and do some site prep under the WPP site plan while they are revising it for this tower? I'm not sure how that works.

If they are already putting up their logos for the project, that's a strong indicator that this is a go. It's going to happen. Don't know the timing but it's clear they are moving forward with this project sooner rather than later.

I've been following this site for 20 years now and never have I thought Austin would ever get a 1,000 ft skyscraper. Its exciting and mind-boggling at the same time.

Is that parking lot owned by Iron Works or just leased by them? Just curious.

I just realized this would be the tallest building in Texas. Somehow that hadn't sunk in yet.

I'm very happy for Austin! Finally, this city will be able to get the first 300 meters!

All of the renderings and plans I've seen of this development, and prior ones (e.g., WPP, etc.) haven't shown the Iron Works parking lot as being there. The developments go all the way to the sidewalk of Cesar Chavez. So I assume IW is just leasing the spot....

It'd sure be weird if the owned the spot though, and it stayed empty the whole time...

My thoughts also. It's just been used by them forever so I wasn't sure. And I do like that you have this little rustic BBQ place amidst all the new towers.

They’re in a neat protected little nook — hard to see how they’d be in danger of being redeveloped, at least until phase two of the CC expansion is complete, and that strip of Cesar Chavez comes back open for private investment.

The site plan revision filing was updated today with some attachments. Nothing too exciting as they are related to flooding/drainage on the site. But maybe this means we are getting closer to some site prep?
